About Training

The Midland Facilities Training Course is an introductory course designed to teach the necessary skills and knowledge needed to perform basic housekeeping and janitorial duties, daily/routine, periodic and restorative cleaning and maintenance of carpet, upholstery, resilient, natural stone, and wood floors.

The course is designed to teach students how to identify different fabric, surface types, flooring types and to gain a better understanding of their individual characteristics. The course objective is to impart a clear understanding of the basic cleaning principles, theories, methodologies and procedures needed to perform basic housekeeping/janitorial duties, carpet, upholstery and hard floor cleaning and maintenance. The objective will be achieved through teaching students the proper use of equipment, materials and supplies, the science of cleaning and all safety related issues.

Emphasis will be placed on cleaning and maintenance service procedures. Students will learn how to perform all aspects of daily, routine and restorative procedures as is relates to the cleaning and maintenance industry. The course will also provide students with training that will increase employability skills that employers are looking for.
